During the summer and fall CIAA collects valuable information used to evaluate the preformance of various salmon release and fishway projects.  Additionally, the enumeration and escapement data collected at smolt traps and adult weirs, respectively, is utilized by the Alaska Department of Fish and Game for fisheries management.  CIAA conducts other research such as tagging studies to investigate the predictabilty of migrating salmon, collects limnological data at various lakes on the Kenai Peninsula, and assists the Kenai Watershed Forum with baseline data collections.
